Introduction

PV switch disconnectors are essential components in photovoltaic (PV) systems, designed to interrupt the connection between the DC/AC inverter and the solar panels. These devices are crucial for the safe maintenance and operation of PV installations.

Our Series of PV Switch Disconnectors

Our product line includes both DC and AC switch disconnectors.

The "LS..." series of switch disconnectors are specifically designed for interrupting the DC/AC inverter from the solar panels.
They are available in various configurations:
- LS16, LS25, and LS32 models with different current ratings (16A, 25A, 32A) and pole configurations (2-pole, 4-pole, 4+2 pole).
- These models are suitable for systems up to 1500V DC.
Contact Configurations:
- 2 pole in series (A2)
- 4 poles in series (A4)
- 4 poles in series + 2 poles in parallel (A4+2)
The LS series is tested to critical currents and at 10kA short circuit during 50 ms without specific protection.
The maximum cable cross sections vary, including options for solid, stranded, and flexible cables.
Terminal screw size is M4 with a tightening torque of 1.7 - 1.8 Nm.
The devices are designed with high-quality materials, such as a glass fiber reinforced polyester frame, for high mechanical strength and temperature stability (RTI of 130°C).
These switches are designed for interrupting DC circuits in PV systems and battery storage systems.

Operating Temperature:
- Open: -40 to +65 °C
- Closed: -40 to +45 °C
- Storage: -50 to +90 °C
Power loss per switch at maximum current and contact resistance per pole are also provided for each model.
The design includes features for easy installation and operation:
- Lockable handle with up to 3 locks.
- Included connection screws.
- Perforated covers for temperature measurement.
- Clear handle position indication.
- Mounting system for improved cooling.
- Contact position indicator.

The LBS DC series are manually operated multipolar load break switches with making and breaking capacity under load conditions up to 1000 VDC.
They are designed and tested for various applications, including earthing, floating, and bipolar systems.
These switches have been tested and approved for demanding applications.
- Available in 2-pole configurations (LBS 100, LBS 160, and LBS 250) with current ratings up to 250A.
The LBS series has a high rated insulation voltage and impulse withstand voltage.
Poles can be connected in series for 1000 VDC or in parallel for higher nominal current.
They feature a reduced number of bridging bars, which saves costs and mounting time.
A 2-pole switch has reduced warming and can be placed in a smaller enclosure.
Tested to withstand 10kA short circuit during 50ms without specific protection.
The LBS series is also available as accessories such as terminal screens and bridging bars

LBS AC1000 load break switches are designed for heavy-duty applications up to 1000 VAC.
They are suitable for applications with non-standard voltage levels and harsh operating conditions.
Models include LBS 200 3P AC1000 and LBS 400 3P AC1000 with current ratings of 200A and 400A respectively.
They have a high rated insulation voltage and impulse withstand voltage.
Features:
- Improved breaking performance due to rapid opening and closing combined with arcing chambers.
- Double breaking per pole for durability and high short-circuit current withstand.
- Made of glass fiber reinforced polyester for thermal and mechanical resistance.
- Position indicator directly on the bar housing the moveable contacts.
- Easy connection with good centre-to-centre distance and copper connection up to 240 mm².
- Wide range of accessories to facilitate integration and operation.

A variety of accessories are available for both LBS DC and LBS AC1000 switches including:
- Shafts for door interlocked handles.
- Terminal screens.
- Bridging bars.
- Terminal shrouds.
- Auxiliary contacts.
- Direct handles and door interlocked handles.

Application

LBS AC1000 load break switches can be used in applications with non standard voltage levels. There are many PV inverters today on the market with higher output voltages (up to 800V AC).
Can be also used in applications with harsh operating conditions such as paper mills or the metallurgy, chemical, petrochemical or mining industries.
LBS AC is designed for all heavy duty applications up to 1000 VAC - AC 22. It offers a total adaptability to any environment thanks to a wide variety of accessories.
